If so, The Father's Heart (TFH) Ministry has various ways that you can serve! Our volunteers come from all over the Rochester area, from local churches, colleges, and even youth groups. You can serve individually, with your family or small group, or as a large group. Anyone is welcome to serve with TFH! Serving at The Father's Heart Headquarters (HQ)
Volunteers make everything in our ministry happen, from prepping the items used for outreaches, to taking care of The Father's Heart (TFH) HQ and praying for each of our outreach events. If you are interested in serving with us, please look through the opportunities below, complete the Volunteer Form and we will contact you with ways you or your team can help.
Clothing
TFH sorts through clothing on Wednesday mornings. Volunteers make up the totes of clothes for the week’s outreaches. Also at this time, you could be making up toiletry packs from donated items that will be handed out during our outreaches.
Pick Ups/Unloading
On most Wednesday and Thursday mornings you can help TFH by going to Wegmans, Costco, etc. to pick up, load, and unload donations at TFH HQ. Weekly bulk donations occur Wednesday mornings at HQ where pallets of food are unloaded from 8:30-10:30 AM.
Work Projects/HQ Help
If you are handy you can be a blessing to TFH by helping around the HQ with various work projects. This would include lawn clean-up and general cleaning as well as doing miscellaneous repairs in and around the HQ house and grounds. There is always something that needs to be done so individuals or groups are welcome to come!
Serving at The Father's Heart Mobile Kitchen for Christ
The Mobile Kitchen for Christ hits the inner City of Rochester every Thursday and Friday night, and Saturday during the day providing a hot meal, groceries, clothing, Bible literature, prayer, and most importantly, the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The Father's Heart feeds approximately 300-600 people on a weekly basis. We are grateful to God for providing our ministry with an influx of volunteers, eager to show the love and compassion of Christ, to the hurting and needy, on the streets of Rochester and the greater Monroe County area.
Mobile Kitchen for Christ
When working as a Mobile Kitchen volunteer, you will help with unloading and setting up tables by laying out the groceries, clothing, Bible literature, etc., and handing out the items to the individuals that arrive. You can minister to and pray with the people that attend the outreach. In addition, you can serve in the Mobile Kitchen by preparing and handing out a hot meal to those who would like one.
Redeeming Love
Are you a woman who is interested in showing the love of Christ to women on the streets of Rochester who are hurting, addicted, and/or being trafficked? If so, please consider joining other women volunteers who share a common desire to minister to vulnerable women by driving around the streets of Rochester in our Redeeming Love van loaded with bags of toiletries, lunches, snacks, drinks, Bibles, and a list of TFH outreach locations and various agencies that can help them get off the streets. Music Ministry
We are looking for individuals or groups to come out and worship the Lord at TFH outreaches on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM. If you are interested, please contact musicministry@thefathersheartroc.org to see how you can help.
